I admit that I was in Jackson Hole, Wyoming (map) in the summer and just remember that it was great. Temperatures were low, but this was not a problem because in June is usually very hot, so it was pleasant for me. Due to the high altitude (6200 feet / 1890 m.), Temperatures were between 32 F / 0 C to 75 F / 24 C , so it was warm in the day and cool in the night. And although it was summer, I was lucky enough to see snowfall in one of the days spent there. The exciting scenery, nice and inviting atmosphere in the hotel made me think to go there to ski in the winter. I found, there are many lodging options and services.

I get to Jackson by air from Salt Lake City and it took me about 15 minutes to get to downtown. Relatively small, the Jackson Hole airport is a very cozy place, because most of the interior elements are wooden. Waiting for your flight you’ll enjoy the spectacular Teton mountain views through the big window walls.

The Town of Jackson is at once cosmopolitan and cowboy mountain town, which is ideal for anyone looking for the ultimate 4 seasons mountain experience. It’s a premier destination for skiers and non-skiers and is located near several national parks. Here is the southern entrance of both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park.

On Town sq., log cabins from the nineteenth century share the walkway with prime samples of modern Western design. You will find Locally-owned boutiques with runway fashions and Western shops stocking t-shirts and lariats. There are a lot of art Galleries as various as downtown itself, from historic scenes of Mountain Men to abstractions by valuable masters. Variety of restaurants offer a commensurate array of cookery adventures, from selection meats sourced regionally to cookery power rivaling most metropolises.

My favorite fast food place was “Great Harvest of Jackson” (155 Center Street). For less than $10 I enjoyed their sandwiches or soup menu, fresh baked bread and delicious sweets.

Do't miss the Cowboy Bar, also. It's a nice place to spent a few hours in a western atmosphere.

I spent my time mostly at Snow King Resort Hotel, which I could strongly recommend you if you are going for conference or business meetings there. I believe it’s also the right place for skiing, because it’s located right next to Snow King Mountain Resort known as "The Town Hill”. It’s right in the town of Jackson and has 16 steep trails, snow tubing and Night skiing run. If you want to make good pictures of a value, you have to The Town Hill and visit the Panorama House.

If you go to Jackson Hole for skiing, most probably you’ll visit Teton Village. It’s just 12 miles northwest of Jackson and you could reach it for about $3 by shuttle buses. You’ll find everything you need in that Swiss-style village – bank, grocery store, a post office, gear rentals and child care. And here is the right place for ski lovers - The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR). The Aerial Tram will lead you from base of Teton Village to the top of Rendezvous Mountain, where you will enjoy winter sports for about $73-$112 (adult lift tickets) and $44-$67 (junior lift tickets) per day.
